Terms of Use

Description of the service

Snappmat helps you identify ingredients from a photo, find matching recipes and plan a week with an accompanying shopping list.

Account and responsibility

An account is created via Google or Apple and is personal. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. You can use scanning and recipes without an account, but saving, rating and weekly planning require sign-in.

Free tier and quota

Without a subscription, a limited number of scans per week is included for signed-in users. The quota resets at each week boundary, counted in Swedish time. Without an account, a lower limit applies instead, counted on a rolling 90-day basis. We may adjust the size of either quota, and material changes are announced in the app.

Premium and automatic renewal

Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription, with a choice of monthly or annual billing. The current price in your currency is shown in the app before you confirm the purchase. Payment is charged by Apple or Google at purchase and then at each renewal. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Premium includes up to 8 scans with results per day, counted in Swedish time, and at most 10 scans in total per day.

Cancellation and refunds

You cancel the subscription in your Apple ID settings or in Google Play, not in the app and not with us. You keep premium features until the end of the period. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. We cannot process refunds for purchases made in their stores. When premium ends you keep your saved recipes, ratings and weekly plans, but scanning returns to the free tier quota and premium filters become unavailable.

Permitted use

The app is intended for personal, non-commercial use to plan and cook food. Circumventing quotas, automating calls against the service or redistributing recipe content is not permitted.

Intellectual property

Recipes come from Spoonacular or are created by Snappmat's AI from the items you scanned. Recipe content from Spoonacular belongs to the respective rights holders. The app's interface and code belong to Reza Saffari.

AI content disclaimer

Ingredient lists are identified by an AI model and nutrition figures are calculated partly with AI. Both can be wrong. You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before relying on it.

Allergies and dietary needs

The service is not an allergy tool and must not be used to determine whether a dish is safe for you. Dietary preferences and ingredient exclusion are taste settings, not safety filters. You are responsible for checking ingredients against your own allergies and dietary needs.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided as is. We are not liable for indirect damages or for harm arising from relying on AI-generated content without reviewing it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory Swedish consumer law.

Suspension

We may suspend an account used in breach of these terms, ordinarily after a warning, except where the misuse risks harming the service or other users.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swedish law. As a consumer you may turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes or to the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
